I've been thinking recently about the genre of ML meme that assume that you, the reader, are (also) a straight (white?) man and who gets to be in the implied in-group.
(I know that in ML/CS this goes waaaaaaay back, far before Twitter, or even the internet, was even a thing.)
It feels important to acknowledge that a lot of folks working in this field have to actively put in effort to see themselves where they aren't (yet!).
